I bought a 2014 2-door JK a few weeks ago that has an after market kenwood system. I’ve noticed that it functions normally for a few days. But randomly in the morning, the head unit won’t power on. The only way I’ve found to get it to power on again is to disconnect my wranglers negative terminal for a couple of minutes and reconnect it.
Disconnect the battery for an hour, to lose all memory and reconnect. See if it still does it, and if so should tell you it's the head unit. If it doesn't when you start the car, then turn the radio up but not to the same 14 setting, and shut the vehicle off, to where the accessories shut off.
